Pleiades is an independent Greek food and culture project, working with small producers in Greece and sharing their stories through food, hospitality, and art in the North East of England.
Inspired by the Pleiades, the seven sisters, daughters of Atlas and Pleione, are figures associated with navigation, seasonality, cultivation, and care for the land. In mythology, the Pleiades are also linked to the nurturing and teaching of Dionysus, god of wine, celebration, and collective ritual.
Their story speaks of knowledge passed through practice, of learning rooted in the earth, and of culture formed around the table.
