The Concept

Why Pleiades

Pleiades is a constellation,
a cluster of stars, each distinct, yet part of a whole.

We see producers the same way.
Independent, rooted in their own place and practice, yet connected through shared values of care, quality, and origin.

What we offer is not a single source,
but a constellation of stories.

Why Small Producers

Scale changes the relationship between land, product, and process.

Small producers work closer to what they grow and make, with more attention, fewer compromises, and a clearer sense of origin.

This is not about tradition for its own sake,
but about maintaining quality, traceability, and integrity.

Why it matters

Food carries more than flavour.

It holds landscapes, histories, and ways of working that are easily lost when reduced to standardised production.

Choosing carefully is a way of staying connected
to people, to place, and to the conditions that make these products possible.

What we do

Events & Experiences

Olive oil tastings, Greek food evenings, and mythology nights over wine—bringing people together around food, stories, and shared tables.

Markets & Pop-ups

You can find us at local markets, where we share our products, talk about their origins, and connect directly with people.

Collaborations & Partnerships

We work with shops, delicatessens, wine bars, and venues—whether to stock products, host tastings, or create something together.

How it all started

A simple illustration of a single olive with a stem.

I have been living in the North East for the past six years; drawn to the sea, to its constant movement, to the rhythm of the tides.

Coming from a place where the sea does not move in the same way, this felt like a quiet revelation. A different relationship to water, to time, to landscape.

I was born and raised in Corfu—an island shaped by layers of history, including a long British presence that left its mark on local culture and produce.
Kumquat, ginger beer—small traces of exchange that still remain today.

Alongside me is my partner, a Geordie—rooted in the North East, shaped by this coastline, but equally drawn to the Mediterranean: its sun, its food, its way of gathering and sharing.

This project grew between those two places.

My background is in environmental research and artistic practice, working with uncertainty, place, and storytelling. Together, we wanted to bring
not only products, but the stories, landscapes, and people behind them.

Pleiades NE is our way of doing that a careful gathering of producers, curated seasonally and shared with intention.

Something closer to a constellation than a catalogue.
